So how does my Christmas Tree support community service?

Your purchase of a real Christmas tree helps build a better community

It’s as simple as that.

The Hoppers Crossing Apex Club is a community service club whose members have worked tirelessly within Wyndham since 1980. The work has helped those less fortunate in our community, across Australia and around the world. The Club’s work has contributed to making our community a better place for everyone. Our members are ordinary men and women, just like you, who know that they can make a difference to other peoples lives by giving up a small amount of time and putting in a little bit of extra effort.

Service projects to help the community

The work undertaken by the Club can only be progressed following the raising of sufficient money to fund whichever community program or project is proposed. And the longest running and most successful fundraising activity the club has undertaken, is fresh Apex Christmas tree sales. Your purchase is directly helping those less fortunate in the community. Over the years, funds raised through the sale of real Christmas trees have contributed to a number of varied and valuable community projects:

  • purchased a bus for the Warringa school
  • provided Christmas gifts for underprivileged children
  • sponsored a number of children in third world countries through PLAN International
  • and many more things as well

Community service and sustainable

But the story doesn’t end there. Aside from helping those less fortunate in the community, the Hoppers Crossing Apex Club real Christmas tree project is also environmentally friendly. The real Christmas trees obviously help our environment during the growing period, converting heaps of carbon dioxide back in to clean oxygen. But they keep on helping after their work as beautiful real Christmas trees is done as well.

The Hoppers Crossing Apex Club ensure that all our collected trees are mulched and used in community environmental projects. As mulch, our trees help to reduce weeds and keep moisture in garden beds to help plant growth and nourishment.
